Pre-Sale Condition Report

For the owner who is selling: ARMA inspects the vessel and reviews its documents, and delivers a report you can show buyers for 45 days. Each buyer verifies it with its report number on ARMA's page.

Who it's for

Owners who are about to sell their vessel and want to meet buyers with clear, verifiable information, before listing it or once there are interested buyers.

What's included

  • A visual, non-destructive technical inspection, the same as the pre-purchase one: hull, structure, engines, propulsion, fuel, electrical, bilge, safety, electronics, through-hulls, interiors, and sanitation, wherever accessible
  • A review of the documents you provide: that they match the vessel, whose name they show, any debts visible in them, liens according to the registry certificate you provide, and legal status in Mexico
  • Each finding with its severity and photos, and the condition of each system
  • Two PDFs, in English and Spanish, with the same report number, QR code, and expiration date on every page
  • An estimated cost sheet for you only, separate from the report
  • A verification page where the buyer confirms the report is authentic and valid, and downloads the original

What's not included

  • It is not a certificate, a warranty, a valuation, or a title certification
  • It does not recommend buying or give an opinion on price
  • It never says «free of liens»: if you do not provide the registry certificate, the report says «no lien certificate provided»
  • ARMA does not list the vessel, negotiate with buyers, or charge a commission on the sale
  • It does not replace the inspection and legal review the buyer hires
  • Customs or import advice (quoted separately)

When it makes sense

Before listing the vessel or once there are interested buyers: you arrive with the condition documented and spare the buyer doubts.

How ARMA works

Before the inspection you sign the Seller's Statement with what you know about the vessel; it is attached to the report as your information, which ARMA does not verify. ARMA inspects, reviews the documents, and delivers the final report, with no draft: no finding is removed or softened. It is valid for 45 days from delivery.

Frequently asked questions

How long is it valid?

45 days from the day we deliver the report; if delivery is delayed more than 15 days after the inspection for reasons on your side (for example, the balance payment), they count from day 15. After that, the verification page shows it has expired. Renewing it is a new inspection.

How does the buyer know it is authentic?

They scan the code on any page or type the report number at armaritimeadvisors.com/verificar. There they see whether it is valid, expired, withdrawn, or replaced, and download the original.

What if I fix something afterwards?

You request a follow-up visit of what was corrected: a new report number is issued with the same expiration date, and the previous one shows as replaced.

Does the report include repair costs?

No. Estimated costs go on a separate sheet for you only; if you share it, you do so at your own responsibility.

Does it work if the vessel is under a Temporary Import Permit (TIP)?

Yes. The report states whose name the permit is in, when it expires, and that the sale requires resolving the customs status first.

Who can hire it?

The registered owner, their attorney-in-fact, or a broker with the owner's written authorization; in that case the owner signs the access authorization and the Seller's Statement.

Can ARMA later do the pre-purchase inspection for a buyer?

Yes. ARMA tells the buyer in writing that it prepared the report at the seller’s request, and performs a new, complete inspection.

This service is delivered by agreed scope and is subject to documentation, access, and — where applicable — third-party or authority requirements. ARMA provides independent advisory support; ARMA does not replace a certified surveyor, attorney, notary, insurer, financial institution, or government authority where one is legally or contractually required.
